Chaska, known for serving authentic street food as a fresh alternative to traditional Indian cuisine has opened another location in downtown Toronto.
The new Chaska is located near Toronto Waterfront destination Sugar Beach at 16 Richardson Street. The new location is the third location opening downtown and the sixth location overall for the brand.
The location is part of the Daniel’s Waterfront development and is located in the European-inspired c
orridor along with other restaurants with patios and retail shops. The location will be catering to the ever-expanding Waterfront community and is minutes away from George Brown’s Waterfront campus. The location will be open late into the evening, 7 days a week.
“We always wanted to bring our authentic Indian street food concept to the Waterfront area and serve the diverse demographic of the area who will appreciate the quality product we offer at Chaska locations,” says CEO Naveen Seth.
The inspiration for Chaska comes from Seth’s own childhood memories while taking family road trips to different cities in India. Seth would often enjoy local dishes at road-side vendors. Chaska means “obsession” and his was an obsession of the sights, sounds and flavours of the truck stops and the open-air markets in India which he looked to bring to life within the Chaska locations.
Chaska pays close attention to their ingredients and only sources quality products to produce their food. All their meats are Halal and are raised without the use of hormones which they proudly display inside and outside of their restaurant.
Guests may place their order ahead of time using the recently launched Chaska App available for both iOS and Android. The Chaska App offers guests discounts and allows them to save on fees charged through other ordering platforms. Chaska’s newest location will also be preparing items for their virtual-concept Nakhraa for take-out and delivery. Nakhraa offers authentic style curries such as Butter Chicken which were inspired by dishes prepared for large weddings and celebrations in India.
Chaska’s newest location is operated by an experienced franchise-partner who have been in the hospitality industry for over 20 years. The waterfront location is the first in a string of openings set to take place in 2022 which include new locations inside York University and in Oakville.
